Getting Ready for Fall
What to expect at The Farmhouse this fall…
* A beautiful backdrop of fall foliage surrounding our meadow and gardens.
* Styled setups for a variety of fall and holiday sessions and ideal for minis.
Fall is the busiest time for The Farmhouse. Our photography location has so many lovely backdrops with a focus on natural landscape and a few styled setups that are perfect for mini sessions. Please keep in mind that Farmhouse Sessions give you access to the giant oak with tree swing, the meadow, the gardens, the forest path and the front porch. Campfire Sessions and Christmas on the Porch Sessions are booked separately and only give you access to those areas. Please be courteous to other photographers and only use the area of the property you have booked. Here’s what to expect at The Farmhouse from September to December…
The Meadow: The tall grass and wildflower meadow is already beginning to transition to a fall look with seed pods on dead flower stems and fewer blooms. While there will still be wildflowers blooming until the first frost, the meadow will be an ideal backdrop for fall photos by September and will not be mowed until late winter.
The Front Porch: The front porch will be decorated for fall in September with fall flowers and pumpkins as they become available at the market. In November it will be switched over to a simple, classic Christmas/winter look with potted pines, wreaths and greenery.
Campfire Sessions: New to The Farmhouse, these sessions are a styled setup that are perfect for fun, fall mini sessions. Our fire pit area will be decorated with hanging lights, adirondack chairs, cozy blankets, lanterns and more. We will help you make a fire and have long roasting skewers available to use. Bring some marshmallows and capture genuine smiles while your clients enjoy a fun evening by the campfire. These sessions have very limited availability so book early!
Christmas on the Porch: For November and December our side porch will be decorated for Christmas with traditional holiday decor. This styled backdrop is an ideal location for a day of mini sessions because the porch is in full shade most of the day.
