Here are a few pretty spots at The Farmhouse…

Mother Oak’s Tree Swing- Our children fondly named the giant oak in our front yard “Mother Oak” and the oversized wooden tree swing is a client favorite for photos. In late winter, daffodils bloom throughout this area. There is also a collection of stones near the tree that make a great photo spot as well. This is where we recommend you begin your session and then proceed to the left side of the house to the garden and meadow.

Little Country Garden- Behind the tree swing to the left of the house is our little country garden. This quaint little garden has shade most of the day and gets beautiful lighting. It has an old tobacco fence, antique iron chairs for children, a concrete birdbath and more. You will see patches of English ivy and a variety of blooms from azaleas in early spring to butterfly bushes in summer— it just depends on the time of year.

The Meadow- On the left and back sides of our property, we have a little meadow with a mix of tall grass and wildflowers. This rustic meadow is always changing depending on what is blooming at any given time. We plant a variety of flowers from year to year but typically there are Black Eyes Susans, Coreopsis, Cosmos and Zinnias. Please do not pick the flowers. For your convenience there are walking paths cut around the meadow.

The Azalea Garden-Enter through the old iron gate and follow the winding stone path through our woodland garden that will be lovely in spring when the azaleas bloom. We also have crocus and daffodils that bloom in this area. We have an old green iron bench that sits beneath a large pine tree, a concrete and wood bench under a Weeping Willow tree and an old white iron bench at the end of the stone path with a pretty backdrop of the meadow.

The Forest Path- Walk the path beside the meadow along the forest’s edge to find lots of pretty wooded backdrops for photos. Depending on the time of year, you will see different blooms and colored foliage along the way. Follow the path through the back meadow turning toward the house and you’ll reach the driveway where you can use our porches which are decorated seasonally.

The Farmhouse Porch- Photos on our old wooden swing, vintage pew bench or our stone front steps make pretty backdrops on our wrap around porch. Our home is white and the porch floor is light grey which makes for a neutral, light and airy aesthetic. At times our porch may be decorated for the season (Fall-Pumpkins on the Porch, etc.)

The Bunny Garden- Our newest garden and still a work in progress as we add plants, we have designed a quaint little garden for our bunnies. With a classic, white picket fence and a gabled arbor gate, you’ll have a lovely backdrop for photos. Be sure to say hello to Bentley and Beau through the windows of their hutch. But for their safety, PLEASE DO NOT LET THEM OUT of their hutch without prior permission and assistance from us. If you would like to book a photo session with our bunnies, please email us to schedule. We charge an additional $25 to use our bunnies for photos.

MAY-OCTOBER- Wildflowers (Depending on weather)

NOVEMBER- Tall Grass Meadow *We do not mow our meadow until December to allow all flowers to go to seed. Until then, the meadow will be left in its natural state with seed pods on dead stems, tall grass and fall wildflowers.
